Unless exempt, hunters must carry a valid Kentucky annual or short term hunting license on their person while in the field. Unless exempt hunters are required to possess & carry additional permits to hunt deer, turkey and migratory birds in Kentucky. Any hunter less than 16 years old may purchase a junior hunting license instead of a regular license. About Sportsman's Warehouse Lexington
Open since 2010, Sportsman's Warehouse in Lexington, KY is near Lake Cumberland, Red River Gorge, and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. National gunsmithing services are now available! If you like whitetail deer and turkey hunting, we're here to get you all set up with everything you need. If fishing is more your speed, we have all of your tackle to catch the smallmouth or largemouth bass that you're after. We also carry plenty of supplies for kayaking, hiking, and camping. Our shop services are available to spool reels, mount and boresight rifle scopes, gun cleaning, cut arrows, tune bows in our 10-yard archery lane, and anything covered by your Firearm Service Plan. Sure, you might see all four seasons in a single day, but no matter the weather, we've got the accessories to fit your outdoor adventure. While you're in the area, check out local events like the Kentucky Derby, Keeneland races, Raft Up, NASCAR at Kentucky Speedway, Lake Cumberland Poker Run, and the Red, White, and Boom Country Music Festival.

With this license you can hunt big game and small game.

Valid Dates of Annual Licenses/Privileges
- Annual hunting licenses and privileges are valid from September 1 through August 31 each year.
- The Harvest Information Program and Federal Duck Stamp is valid July 1 through June 30 annually.
Free/Reduced Fee & Lifetime Licenses
- Free/Reduced Fee Licenses: You may qualify for free/reduced fee annual hunting licenses/privileges if you are:

Who Needs a Hunting License
Bah in san diego ca. You need a hunting license if you are:
- 12 years and older and using a firearm or bow to hunt or take wild game. Persons under age 12 cannot hunt.
- Junior Hunters (12-15): review regulations and information for junior hunters, ages 12-15.
- Additional Privileges/Permits: depending on the season and species you are hunting you may need additional privileges or permits. These are listed in the table above.
You do not need a hunting license if you are:
- A resident landowner primarily engaged in farming (including lessees and members of their immediate families) when small game hunting on farm lands they are occupying and cultivating.
- A Native American living and hunting on reservation land.
- Hunting on a licensed shooting preserve or big game shooting facility.
Note: To hunt turkey, all hunters must purchase a turkey permit. There are no exceptions.
